Frequently asked questions
The most common questions:
No, absolutely not! I don't do orange. Our solution is made of the highest quality, natural ingredients. I have been trained and certified and will provide a completely custom tan.
Please visit our Tan Care page to find out the proper steps that need to be followed before your spray tan.
After your session, I will provide you with after-care instructions to take home with you.
Including: staying hydrated, moisturized, patting dry when coming out of water, and making sure you don't SOAK in hot water for too long.
And I am always available for questions if needed.
The entire tanning process takes only about 10-15 minutes, from start to finish. But, we book 20 minute sessions to allow time for questions (or chit chat!)
Typically, your tan will last around 7 days; however, if you take care of your skin during this time, you can extend that up to 10 days or more!
It is important to follow the steps listed on my after care sheet to get the best quality tan possible.
Please make sure to TEXT my cell phone when you arrive. Wait in your vehicle and I will bring you in as soon as I can!
Tan Care
Take care of all other beauty appointments, such as waxing, sugaring, manicures, pedicures, lash extensions and hair coloring. These services should be done at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan, but 48 hours is even better.
Here is what you do before your spray tan:
Make sure your skin is CLEAN AND EXFOLIATED. Any left over product can case a barrier between your skin and the tan. An exfoliating mitt is the best way to accomplish this. If you don't have one, or don't know what to use -- I sell some awesome ones in shop. If using a scrub, opt for oil-free.
Shave. Shaving after a spray tan can strip your tan.
Please do not shower right before your appointment as the heat and moisture can adversely affect your tan. The solution can also settle in your pores and cause an unintended freckled look.
If you must shower the day of your tan, be sure to do so a minimum of 4 hours before your appointment. Shower only with cool water and avoid using any soap, shaving cream, or exfoliant products.
For more details, client prep instructions will be sent directly to you after booking!
Here is what you do the day of your spray tan session:
- Make sure you are wearing loose fitting clothing!
- Make sure all product has been removed from your skin: deodorant, perfumes, etc.
WHAT TO WEAR DURING
This depends on your comfort level. Women (over 18 years of age) may spray tan nude or topless. Young ladies under the age of 18 must have a parent present and recommended to wear both top and bottoms.
You must wear your hair up and out of your face/off your neck! You’ll be offered a hairnet, so the solution doesn’t get in your hair.
Men must have their private area covered at all times. Men are not allowed to spray tan nude. That said, men can wear boxers, briefs, or even a thong to help minimize tan lines.
WILL IT STAIN?
The solution washes out of most clothing very easily. However, nothing is 100% and there are some fabrics that may stain. So, choosing a dark colored bikini or undergarments is highly recommended.
WHAT TO WEAR AFTER
Your skin will be dry after your spray tan, but it is still very important to avoid tight fitting clothing. That means no leggings, biker shorts, jeans, sports bras, or similar garments. Dark, loose fitting sweats or shorts and a t-shirt are highly recommended to avoid the bronzer shifting on your skin.
Bar soaps, Dove, Olay, and Panteen products before and after tanning. These products tend to create a barrier on the skin and will negatively impact your results. Ingredients matter! Avoid alcohol and other harsh ingredients.
AVOID WATER: The DHA in your spray tan is developing. This means no sweating, no bathing kids, no washing hair, no swimming, no doing dishes. When brushing your teeth, try to avoid getting it on the outside of your mouth. Your skin must remain dry and untouched after your spray tan.
Wear your comfy clothes and catch up on your favorite shows.
You will be provided with more instructions to take home with you after your tan is completed.
Here is the best way to maintain your tan: HYDRATE!
To ensure that your tan lasts as long as possible, you will want to make sure you are hydrated and using lots of moisturizers. Oil free is best.
Pat dry after a shower. Rubbing can cause exfoliation!
No matter what kind of tan you got, your tan will continue to develop until the 24 hours mark. Typically, your tan will last five to seven days; however, if you take care of your skin during this time, you can extend that up to ten days or more!
Cancellation Policy
I implement a 50% fee for cancellations and rescheduling within 24 hours of scheduled service time.
‘No shows’ will be charged the full price of their scheduled service.
Multiple cancellations in a row will require payment up front.
As I understand that things come up, having policies in place helps business run smoothly. It is not easy to fill appointment times after the 24 hour cut off. Thank you for understanding!
